Cosplay Event Guidelines and Policies

Costume Competition Requirements:
Our Cosplay Competition is dedicated to handmade, original costume designs.
Store-bought costumes are ineligible for the competition.
A minimum of 75% of the costume must not have been purchased and handmade elements are required.

Weapons Policy:
Costume weapons, including prop firearms and bladed items, are allowed as part of your cosplay, but they must adhere to strict safety guidelines.
All prop weapons must be visibly marked and tagged by our staff upon entry.
Prop weapons must be constructed from lightweight materials and must not have sharp edges, pointed tips, or functional mechanisms.
Projectile-firing props, airsoft guns, and realistic firearms are strictly prohibited.
Please refrain from swinging or brandishing props in a manner that may cause harm or create hazards.

Dress Code:
While we celebrate creative freedom, we have certain dress code standards to maintain a comfortable atmosphere for all attendees.
All participants must wear a sufficient amount of clothing, costumes should not be overly revealing, sexually explicit, or endorse hate or hate groups in any form.
Topless costumes are not permitted.
All costumes should adhere to modesty standards and remain appropriate for a family-friendly environment.

Costume Content:
Costumes should not promote or display explicit, offensive, or violent content.
Costumes cannot promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons, or any
unsafe or dangerous activities.
Political agendas or messages should not be a part of the costumes.

Behavior:
Treat all attendees, participants, staff, and event space with respect and kindness.
Inappropriate behavior, harassment, bullying, or disruptive actions will not be tolerated and may result in expulsion from the event.

Photography and Consent:
Always ask for permission before taking photos of or with other attendees.
Respect the personal space and privacy of others.
Do not post or share images that might be deemed inappropriate or non-consensual.

Event Staff Instructions:
Follow directions given by event staff and security at all times.
Their guidance is essential to maintaining order, safety, and the overall quality of the event.

Compliance:
Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in warnings, temporary removal from the event, or permanent expulsion, depending on the severity of the offense.
